The Carbon Neutral Convergence Institute of the College of Engineering at UNIST (President Yong-Hoon Lee) published a popular book titled Carbon Neutrality and Social Transition (Risk Intelligence Publishing) on the 30th of last month, exploring response measures for the transition to a carbon-neutral society.

This book aims to examine the diverse political, economic, and social issues occurring during the carbon-neutral process and to share the research results conducted at the UNIST Graduate School of Carbon Neutrality with a wider audience.

Starting with research on climate change phenomena directly linked to carbon-neutral policies, it broadly covers topics such as new economic systems for the transition to a carbon-neutral society, social conflicts caused by the transition, and changes in public perception.

Fifteen authors participated, including UNIST Professors Jibeom Jeong, Changgeun Song, and Donghyun Cha, as well as Professor Hail Jeong from Seoul National University of Science and Technology and Professor Eunseong Kim from Kyung Hee University.

Professor Jibeom Jeong, the lead author of this book, emphasized, "This book is not about presenting solutions for the transition to a carbon-neutral society but rather about raising questions," and added, "I hope many readers will develop a new sense of awareness about these issues."

Kim Seongyeop, Director of the Carbon Neutral Convergence Institute and Dean of the College of Engineering at UNIST, stated, "The transition to a carbon-neutral society is a challenge we must all solve together," and added, "Through this book, I hope to enhance understanding of carbon neutrality and share efforts and achievements."
