Busan Office of Education Operates Character and English-Math Camps with 5 Regional Universities

Addressing Learning Loss and Providing Career Exploration Opportunities During Vacation

The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education (Superintendent Ha Yun-su) signed an agreement on the morning of the 6th at 10 a.m. in the International Conference Room of the Office of Education Annex with five universities in the Busan area to operate the Character English and Math Camp.


This agreement aims to establish a cooperative system to effectively run the "Character English and Math Camp," which addresses learning loss during vacations for low-income and vulnerable students and provides various career exploration opportunities.


The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of Superintendent Ha Yun-su, education office officials, and the presidents and representatives of five universities: National Pukyong National University, National Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Kyungsung University, Dong-Eui University, and Silla University.

Through this agreement, these institutions agreed to collaborate on ▲ administrative and financial support for smooth camp operation ▲ development and operation of programs supporting immersive English and math education ▲ student safety management ▲ provision of an optimal learning environment.


Superintendent Ha Yun-su of Busan Education said, “We will work to provide student-tailored educational opportunities in cooperation with local universities and strive to reduce educational disparities.”


The Busan Office of Education will operate the camp as a residential program for three weeks starting January 8 next year, utilizing the excellent faculty and infrastructure of the universities. Participating students will study one book each in English and math according to their level and participate in character programs that combine career and major exploration, university-specialized programs, and activities in arts, sports, and empathy.
