Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, is organizing a communication event where citizens walk barefoot paths together and share various opinions to promote barefoot walking.
The district will hold the "Barefoot Path in Front of My House Resident Communication Forum" at 2 p.m. on the 8th at Cheomdan 1-dong 31st Traffic Plaza, around the "Cheomdan Amidulle-gil" (761-7 Wolgye-dong).
The event will share the progress of the "Barefoot Path in Front of My House" project and listen to residents' opinions to promote barefoot walking.
Participants will walk barefoot for 600m on the recently completed longest barefoot path in the district, the Cheomdan Amidulle-gil (3,410m), and perform a setting play (performance) where all participants leave footprints together.
The district is promoting the "Barefoot Path in Front of My House" project, which creates barefoot walking trails mainly in parks and green spaces so that citizens can easily and comfortably engage in barefoot walking anytime and anywhere.
As of the 1st, barefoot paths totaling over 5 km have been completed in 11 neighborhood parks.
Construction is also scheduled to be completed by the end of the year in five other parks, including Ssangam Neighborhood Park and Yeoksan Neighborhood Park. This year alone, a total of 16 barefoot paths (7,400m) will be created in Gwangsan-gu.
Furthermore, the district plans to continuously promote the barefoot path project aiming for the largest number in Gwangju, with 32 locations totaling 16,409m.
