BLACKPINK Finally Re-signs... Yang Hyunsuk "Will Do Our Best Efforts"

Despite the expiration of their 7-year exclusive contract last August, BLACKPINK had not released any official statement regarding renewal, leading to rampant speculation such as 'disbandment rumors' and 'individual contracts.' With this renewal, YG Entertainment has resolved the risk of contract uncertainty. Yang Hyun-suk, YG Entertainment’s Chief Producer, said, "We are pleased to continue our relationship with BLACKPINK. Moving forward, BLACKPINK will continue to shine brilliantly not only as artists representing our company but also as representatives of K-POP on the global music stage. We will do our best to support their journey with unwavering trust and belief."

With YG’s full support, BLACKPINK plans to repay the love of fans worldwide through activities befitting their global status, including the release of a new album and a massive world tour. Since their debut in 2016, BLACKPINK has left monumental marks in K-pop history, such as being the first K-pop girl group to achieve double million-seller status, topping the US Billboard 200, becoming the first Asian artists to headline Coachella and Hyde Park, and conducting the largest world tour ever by a female Korean artist. Their influence continues to grow day by day, both as a team and as solo artists. Their official YouTube channel has 92.1 million subscribers, ranking first among all male and female artists worldwide, solidifying their status.
