Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 6th that it will promote the "Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project," which will allow 5,000 participants in 66 projects next year. This is an increase of 600 people compared to this year.
By type, there are ▲4,309 participants in the "Public Interest Activity Type," such as elementary school meal assistants ▲443 in the "Social Service Type," such as childcare facility support ▲178 in the "Market Type," such as making and selling side dishes ▲70 in the "Employment Referral Type," such as free job placement.
For the "Public Interest Activity Type," applicants must be basic pension recipients aged 65 or older; for the "Social Service Type," residents aged 65 or older (some projects accept those aged 60 or older); and for the "Market Type" and "Employment Referral Type," suitable applicants aged 60 or older can apply.
The participation period varies by detailed project, ranging from 10 to 12 months. The activity allowance to be paid is 290,000 KRW for 30 hours of work per month for the "Public Interest Activity Type," and 761,000 KRW (including weekly holiday allowance) for 60 hours of work per month for the "Social Service Type."
The Seodaemun-gu Office Senior Welfare Division, community service centers, Seodaemun Senior Club, Korea Senior Citizens Association Seodaemun Branch, and Seodaemun Senior Welfare Center will operate application desks until the 22nd of this month.
Residents who wish to apply should visit the relevant institution with a resident registration certificate (issued within the last 3 months) and a copy of their bankbook (for activity allowance payment). Application forms are available at the reception desks.
However, those who receive basic living security livelihood benefits, health insurance workplace subscribers (except for the Employment Referral Type), long-term care grade recipients, or those participating in two or more job projects promoted by government ministries or local governments are not eligible to apply.
