Spicy Udon and Tempura Udon Enhance Noodles' Chewy Texture
CJ CheilJedang announced on the 6th that it will renew three products?'Katsuo Udon,' 'Spicy Udon,' and 'Tempura Udon'?to迎 the peak season of convenient udon meals.
Katsuo Udon is considered the original convenient udon product in Korea. Through the renewal, the content of dried bonito flakes was increased, and the broth's umami flavor was maximized by adding kelp soy sauce and low-temperature aged udon seasoning liquid. Spicy Udon and Tempura Udon enhanced the noodles' chewy and springy texture by adding egg white powder.
The designs were also neatly renewed so that consumers can easily grasp the characteristics of each product. Phrases such as 'Deep flavor with katsuo extract' and 'Spicy taste with Cheongyang chili and red chili' were added to highlight the products' differentiation points and special features at a glance.
CJ CheilJedang currently holds more than half of the domestic convenient udon market share and has maintained the number one sales position for 17 years.
