Explanation and Q&A session on Education Development Special Zone ... Visit to Gupo Care Center and Glocal Universi
On the 6th at 2 PM, the Ministry of Education will host the 'Education Development Special Zone Visiting Briefing' at the auditorium of the Busan Northern Education Support Office.
Busan City is holding the 'Education Development Special Zone Visiting Briefing' for the third time, following Jeonnam on November 21 and Gyeongnam.
This briefing will be attended by about 200 people, including Mayor Park Hyung-jun, Minister of Education Lee Ju-ho, Superintendent Ha Yun-su, members of the Local Era Committee, local governments, and related organizations. The agenda includes explanations and Q&A sessions on ▲ the plan to promote the Education Development Special Zone ▲ educational reform tasks that can be linked with the Education Development Special Zone ▲ and the school facility complexification contest plan.
In particular, the Mayor of Busan and the Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, who are joint applicants for next year's pilot operation contest of the Education Development Special Zone, will attend to show their interest and welcome for the special zone.
Both institutions promised cooperation in promoting the Education Development Special Zone at the recent Education Administration Council and have formed and are operating a dedicated cooperation task force (TF).
Furthermore, after the briefing, key attendees including Minister Lee Ju-ho will visit the 'Gupo Care Center,' a nighttime emergency care center operated by the city education office, and 'Pusan National University,' selected as one of the Glocal University 30, to listen to local voices.
The 'Gupo Care Center,' which provides nighttime care services to kindergarteners and elementary school students in grades 1 to 3 from families seeking emergency care, is a local responsibility care system aimed at creating a child-rearing friendly environment and plans to establish various care models.
Also, Pusan National University and Busan National University of Education, selected as Glocal University 30, are the first in the nation to integrate an education university model, which will be promoted in connection with the Education Development Special Zone to enhance the synergistic effects of both policies.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun stated, “The most urgent task to move toward a new Republic of Korea is regional balanced development, and regional balanced development begins with educational reform.” He added, “By joining forces with the education office, local universities, and local businesses, we will ensure that Busan is selected for the pilot operation contest of the Education Development Special Zone and make Busan a leading city of educational innovation.”
