The Department of Social Welfare at Silla University (President Heo Nam-sik) successfully held the ‘2023 Volunteer Workshop’ in collaboration with the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center.

On November 30th at 2 PM, the ‘2023 Volunteer Workshop’ was held at the Humanities Building of Silla University, attended by 56 social welfare students and officials from the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center.
The event featured various programs including ▲ presentations of outstanding volunteer activity cases by students ▲ a special lecture by Lee Jin-hee, team leader of the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center ▲ and the establishment of a communication and cooperation system using messenger between students and the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center.
The Department of Social Welfare at Silla University has been conducting annual volunteer workshops since 2021 to realize ‘practice-oriented education’ and provide students with diverse information related to volunteer activities. In particular, the special lectures and information provided by the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center, based on their professional experience, have greatly helped enhance students’ capabilities.
At this third workshop, third-year student Gu Eun-kyung and fourth-year student Seo Ye-eun from the Department of Social Welfare presented outstanding volunteer activity cases, providing motivation for other students to engage in volunteer work.
Lee Jin-hee, team leader of the Sasang-gu Volunteer Center, who gave a special lecture under the theme ‘Seeds of Change! Volunteering!’ said, “I hope this opportunity allows students to explore career paths through various volunteer activities, identify the competencies needed as professionals, and strive to develop them.”
The Department of Social Welfare at Silla University supports programs such as the Silla Social Worker Certification System and volunteer programs to nurture social welfare experts. Many students have received volunteer awards including the Minister of Gender Equality and Family Award and the Busan Mayor’s Award, and have achieved excellent results in various contests.
