Busan Mecenat Association Sponsored, Part of Corporate Partnership Support Project
The Department of Music Therapy at the Graduate School of Industrial Culture, Dong-Eui University (President Han Suhwan), held an autumn concert titled "2023 Dream is now" at 7:30 PM on November 23rd at the Seokdang Art Hall of Dong-Eui University.
This event, conducted as part of the Busan Mecenat Association's Corporate Support Partnership Project, was hosted by the Dong-Eui Music Therapy Society to promote the mutual development of Busan's culture, arts, and local economy, with support from Busan City, the Busan Mecenat Association, and G-BiLight (CEO Lee Inhwan).
It was especially planned to provide successful performance experiences and music education to children with disabilities, children from multicultural families, and children from vulnerable groups. About 250 people attended, including employees and families of the sponsoring company G-BiLight, families and acquaintances of the performers, and citizens of Busan, creating a space for shared empathy and communication.
The concert featured performances by the Dream Ensemble from Yeonje-gu Family Center and Seo-gu Disabled Welfare Center, DinDin Harmony, Simkung Dudream Group, and Byeolha Orff Ensemble with tone chimes, vocal ensembles, Orff ensemble, and Nanta percussion. It also included special performances by the Busan National Chamber Orchestra and the Dong-Eui University Collaborative Choir.
Professor Son Myungkyun, head of the Department of Music Therapy at Dong-Eui University, stated, "Music possesses the unique qualities of art and healing that anyone can participate in and enjoy. Music provides psychological stability and emotional fulfillment, and serves as a medium for integration, harmony, and mutual communication." He added, "Since being selected in May for the '2023 Busan City Corporate Partnership Support Project' supported by Busan City and the Busan Mecenat Association, Dong-Eui University has been collaborating with various institutions to provide successful performance experiences and music education to children with disabilities, children from multicultural families, and vulnerable children, thereby fostering their emotional development and enhancing their self-esteem."
