Seodaemun-gu Selected as Best District in Seoul City-Hosted 'Passenger Car Mileage Evaluation'

Seodaemun-gu, Seoul (Mayor Lee Seong-heon) announced on the 5th that it was selected as the best district, ranking first among 25 autonomous districts in Seoul in the ‘2023 Passenger Car Mileage Evaluation’ hosted by the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

This evaluation was comprehensively conducted across categories such as new member registrations, membership increase and decrease performance, and member conversions from December last year to October this year, with Seodaemun-gu receiving the highest scores in all categories.

To encourage resident participation, the district visited management offices of apartment complexes in the area to carry out promotional activities and operated its own promotional booths at major events frequently attended by residents. Additionally, the district actively promoted and guided enrollment in this system through its newsletter and SNS.

As a result, over 900 new members were recruited this year alone. The cumulative number of members reached approximately 8,000. The Passenger Car Mileage system is a citizen energy-saving practice movement that achieves carbon neutrality by drivers voluntarily reducing vehicle operation.

Up to 80,000 mileage points are awarded annually in proportion to the reduction in vehicle driving distance. These mileage points can be exchanged for Onnuri gift certificates and Seoul Love gift certificates, or used to pay local taxes through Seoul ETAX or converted into cash.

Lee Seong-heon, Mayor of Seodaemun-gu, said, “Thanks to the residents who participated in the Passenger Car Mileage system, we were able to be selected as the best district,” and added, “We ask for continuous interest in this project, which contributes to environmental protection, reduces fuel costs, and provides benefits.”
