Dunamu Launches 'Seed Vault NFT Collection' to Commemorate World Soil Day

Dunamu Launches 'Seed Vault NFT Collection' to Commemorate World Soil Day

Dunamu, the operator of the domestic virtual asset exchange Upbit, announced on the 5th that it will launch the Seed Vault non-fungible token (NFT) collection, a biodiversity conservation project, in collaboration with the Environmental Foundation and the Korea National Arboretum (KNA) in celebration of World Soil Day.

The Seed Vault NFT collection is a long-term project spanning three years until 2026, as part of Dunamu's ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) keyword focusing on trees. It was planned to emphasize the uniqueness of both NFTs and plants, which are non-fungible, to raise awareness of the rarity value of living organisms. The launch was announced to coincide with World Soil Day, which highlights the importance of soil conservation, adding significance to environmental preservation.

This project involves creating NFTs of images of major plant seeds stored in the Seed Vault, a seed preservation facility operated by KNA, and issuing them on UpbitNFT. To enhance participants' enjoyment and immersion, they are assigned the role of agents in a world where all wild plants have become extinct. Participants join the project based on the worldview of reviving the green planet Earth by carrying out the mission of sprouting seeds from the Seed Vault, the only hope.

There are two ways to apply as an agent for the Seed Vault NFT collection. First, by participating in the Mystery Box Drops. The Mystery Box Drops, held in two rounds until the 14th, give priority participation rights to holders who own NFTs issued through Dunamu's ESG activities, such as endangered plants and climate change bioindicator NFTs. In the first and second rounds, 800 people each will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis, providing a total of 1,600 units. After the second drop, the remaining quantity will be sold out in the third drop held from the 19th to the 25th of this month. Anyone who is a member of UpbitNFT can participate in the third drop.

The second way is to participate in the SNS event running until the 25th. Participants need to certify their companion plants on Instagram including the required tags and hashtags. Upon completing the mission, participants will receive a gift code to obtain a seed NFT on a first-come, first-served basis. Those who participate in the Mystery Box Drops can also join this event, allowing them to receive up to two seed NFTs.

Once selected as agents through these two methods, each agent will be assigned an NFT edition number code name and granted the qualification to perform missions. By completing various missions such as biodiversity knowledge tests, agents can collect the germination kit NFT that allows seeds to sprout and the nutrition kit NFT that helps plant growth. After collecting all and passing a simple agent qualification check, the mission is considered successful.

All who succeed in the mission will receive a card wallet from the upcycling brand 'Nukak'. Additionally, prizes will be awarded through a lottery depending on mission success.

This project will also lead to the creation of a conservation forest within the actual arboretum based on the mission success rate, connecting online environmental conservation activities to real-world impact. The conservation forest in the arboretum will be used as an educational program, expected to contribute to raising ecological sensitivity among arboretum visitors. Furthermore, holders who own NFTs through this project will be able to actively participate in the community function by voting to decide the direction of future projects, reflecting participants' opinions.
