According to CNN on the 3rd (local time), on the 30th of last month, a 3-month-old boy was bitten by a wolfdog, a hybrid between a wolf and a dog, at a home in Chelsea, Shelby County, Alabama, in the southern United States.
The baby was immediately transported to the hospital but ultimately passed away.

"Hybrids can exhibit unpredictable behavior"... Mayor and International Wolf Center urge caution
Tony Pickelsimer, mayor of Chelsea, expressed condolences in a statement on the 1st, saying, "I feel deep sorrow over this unfortunate and tragic incident."
Mayor Pickelsimer added, "If you decide to raise exotic pets, you have a greater responsibility to ensure the safety of not only your family but also your neighbors," and urged, "When raising aggressive pets such as wolfdogs, safety precautions must be taken."
The International Wolf Center (IWC), which studies wolves, also warned that raising wolfdogs in ordinary households is dangerous.
The IWC explained, "Hybrids like wolfdogs can behave unpredictably due to their genetic traits," and "they can pose a threat to humans."
In 2020, in Michigan, USA, a two-year-old girl lost one arm after being bitten by a wolfdog, and incidents involving wolfdogs have continued in the United States.
