The Innovation Committee led by In Yo-han of the People Power Party, which recommended the 'sacrificial innovation plan' to the party mainstream, has effectively lost momentum as the Kim Ki-hyun leadership has consistently ignored it.

Earlier, the Innovation Committee formally approved the sacrificial innovation plan, which called on the party leadership, senior members, and the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Seok-yeol) faction to either not run in next year's general election or to run in difficult constituencies, setting April 4 as the deadline for the leadership's response. However, the innovation plan was not submitted as an agenda item at the Supreme Council meeting that day.

Regarding Chairman In's request to be recommended as the head of the nomination management committee for next year's general election, Representative Kim had already expressed his refusal. With the Innovation Committee's proposals unlikely to be accepted going forward, there is a prevailing view that it will eventually follow the path of 'early dissolution.'

In the opposition camp, criticism of the Innovation Committee as a "hollow shell" has emerged. Kang Seon-woo, spokesperson for the Democratic Party of Korea, said in a written briefing that "due to the People Power Party leadership's repeated rejection of innovation plans, the In Yo-han Innovation Committee is ultimately facing dissolution empty-handed," adding, "They should quietly pack up and leave."

Spokesperson Kang pointed out, "The 'bitter medicine' that Chairman In Yo-han promised to produce has vanished without a trace, and instead, outdated remarks such as 'The president is like the king,' and 'Everyone except the wife and children must change' have caused public disapproval," adding, "He even shockingly left behind violent remarks showing authoritarian consciousness, such as calling a former party leader 'Jun-seok' because he is younger than himself."

He continued, "What the In Yo-han Innovation Committee has shown so far is not innovation but dirty threats and collusion, nothing more or less," and warned sternly, "The People Power Party's deception of the public, led by the 'hollow shell' In Yo-han Innovation Committee under the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, will never escape the judgment of the people."
