'Comeback' Woods 'World Ranking 1328th → 898th'

Official Weekly Men's Golf World Rankings Announced
Scheffler, McIlroy, Rahm Maintain 1st to 3rd Places
Kim Juhyung 11th, Im Sungjae 27th, Kim Siwoo 46th

The world ranking of "Golf Emperor" Tiger Woods (USA) has risen by as much as 430 places.

On the 3rd (local time), Woods received 0.1069 points in the weekly men's golf world rankings announced, jumping from 1328th place last week to 898th place. He finished 18th in the Hero World Challenge (total prize money $4.5 million), a "special event" on the PGA Tour, held at the Albany Golf Course (par 72) in New Providence, Bahamas. Although the tournament, hosted by the Tiger Woods Foundation, was not an official PGA Tour event and did not count towards FedEx Cup points or prize money rankings, world golf ranking points were awarded.


Scottie Scheffler (USA), Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland), Jon Rahm (Spain), Viktor Hovland (Norway), and Patrick Cantlay (USA) maintained their positions from 1st to 5th. In Korea, Kim Juhyung ranked 11th, Im Sungjae 27th, and Kim Siwoo 46th. Joaquin Niemann (Chile), winner of the DP World Tour ISPS Handa Australian Open, rose to 59th, and Dean Burmester (South Africa), champion of the Investec South African Open Championship, climbed to 77th.
