Students of Dong-Eui Institute of Technology participated in the ‘2023 Fall Academic Conference of the Korea Industrial Convergence Society’ held at the Changwon Grand Mercure Ambassador Hotel from November 23 to 24 and received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award.
The conference, hosted by the Korea Industrial Convergence Society, received about 120 papers, including general papers and special sessions in the field of convergence industry forums.
This conference featured academic presentations in various fields such as convergence technologies in advanced machinery, IT, NT, BT, which are recognized as major growth engines, and core areas of manufacturing IT technology including intelligent robots, control and instrumentation, marine resource plants, vision, and sensors.

At this academic conference, Dong-Eui Institute of Technology sent multiple teams mainly composed of enrolled students, and students Cha Sang-min from the Department of Electric Vehicles, Lee Dong-gyu and Heo Jun-young from the Department of Digital Convergence Machinery received the Excellent Paper Presentation Award.
Cha Sang-min from the Department of Electric Vehicles presented on the topic ‘A Study on Fire Prevention Masks,’ discussing how masks, widely used due to COVID-19, can be repurposed as fire prevention masks as needed, and presented in the industrial convergence system session.
Lee Dong-gyu from the Department of Digital Convergence Machinery compared deformation predictions after injection using FUSION 360 and MODEX 3D for automotive interior parts, while Heo Jun-young presented on structural design and rigidity to reduce residual deformation of couplers for construction rebar splicing.
Professor Kim Man-ho, advisor of the Department of Electric Vehicles, said, “I believe many students who participated in this online academic conference presentation felt proud and realized that good results can be achieved through effort,” adding, “I am proud that the Department of Electric Vehicles is the best in the southeastern region, possessing top-level employment and quality.”
