GS Shop "This Year Travel, Beauty, Fashion Endemic Benefit Product Sales Increase"

GS Shop announced on the 4th that an analysis of product data sold from January to November this year showed that endemic-beneficiary products such as travel, beauty, and fashion gained great popularity.

The top hit product this year was undoubtedly travel products. By the end of November, the number of travel product reservation consultations surged by 87% compared to the entire year of 2022, recovering to about 80% of the annual level before COVID-19 in 2019.


In terms of travel destinations, Japan, Europe, and Vietnam were the most popular in that order. Japan, accounting for 28% of total orders, enjoyed the greatest popularity this year thanks to its close proximity and the weak yen effect. Europe accounted for 24%, with Western European countries such as Spain, Portugal, and Italy making up 13%, and T?rkiye attracting 5.4% of interest. Vietnam, centered around destinations like Da Nang and Nha Trang, ranked third with 17%. Due to the surge in travel demand, sales of ‘American Tourister’ travel bags increased by 390% year-on-year, and ‘National Geographic’ travel bags surged by 240%.


With more outdoor activities, beauty and fashion products also gained popularity. In the beauty category, home-use beauty devices ‘Dual Sonic’ and ‘MediCube’ recorded sales of approximately 85 billion KRW based on orders, creating a sensation. This was thanks to an increasing number of people managing their skin at home instead of visiting dermatologists, and not only women but also men in their 40s becoming major buyers. In particular, ‘Dual Sonic’ was so popular that it sold out five consecutive times from its launch broadcast, ranking first in sales among newly launched products this year.


In the fashion category, as remote work decreased and outdoor activities increased, office casual look brands stood out. The jacket brand ‘Morgan’ ranked first in both order-based sales volume and revenue among all GS Shop brands this year, following 2021 and 2022. Designer Kim Jaehyun’s brand ‘Atelier Majoli’ showcased a minimal design with an old money look, increasing sales by more than 50% compared to the previous year.
