The Samsung Electronics Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone, which gained attention for its so-called '100x zoom' monster camera, has reportedly surpassed 10 million units sold. The entire Galaxy S23 lineup also showed strong sales compared to its predecessor.

On the 3rd (local time), the US IT media outlet 'SamMobile' cited a report stating that the cumulative sales of the Galaxy S23 series increased by 23% compared to the previous generation (S22).


According to the report, the Galaxy S23 series is estimated to have sold a total of 25.06 million units over the past nine months since its launch. During the same period, the S22 series sold 20.32 million units. This means over 5 million more units were sold compared to the previous generation.

In particular, behind the strong performance of the Galaxy S23 was the Ultra model equipped with the 'monster camera.' The Ultra model sold 11.63 million units, followed by the standard Galaxy S23 (8.91 million units) and the Galaxy S23 Plus (4.52 million units).


The S23 Ultra is famous for its 200-megapixel camera with 100x zoom. This camera recently attracted global netizens' attention by appearing on popular social networking services (SNS) such as TikTok and Instagram.


Previously, a fan who attended a concert of the famous American singer Taylor Swift showcased the camera performance by closely filming Swift using the S23 Ultra's 100x zoom.


The fan commented on the S23 Ultra, saying, "There is a difference not only in video but also in audio. I was able to take amazing photos and videos under any conditions," and added, "Samsung should use this footage for advertising."


The media also evaluated that in terms of camera performance, Galaxy surpasses the iPhone. SamMobile stated, "(Samsung Electronics) can create numerous advertisements and promotions to emphasize the amazing camera features of the Galaxy S23 Ultra, but the persuasive power of such organic content is very strong," adding, "If you frequently attend concerts, you probably wouldn't bring any smartphone other than the Ultra."
