Gwamegi, a True Benefactor of the Hometown Love Donation System During Peak Production Season

Dedicated to Discovering Return Gifts Highlighting Local Characteristics Along with Various Events

One of the thank-you gifts of the Pohang City Hometown Love Donation Program, Pohang's representative specialty product 'Gwamegi,' is living up to its name as it reaches its peak season.

The city reported that donors who contribute 100,000 KRW, which is fully tax-deductible, are increasingly choosing Gwamegi with the accumulated 30,000 points.

Mayor Lee Gang-deok is actively promoting participation in Pohang City's Hometown Love Donation Program.

Until October, Pohang Love Gift Certificates were the most chosen thank-you gift by donors in the Pohang City Hometown Love Donation Program, but in November, the proportion of applicants selecting Gwamegi as a thank-you gift accounted for 40.5%, showing an overwhelming ratio.

This was partly due to efforts to develop thank-you gifts using Gwamegi in season, such as promoting a 'Soju Giveaway' event (limited to 2,000 sets) for donors who chose Gwamegi starting in early November.

The city plans to touch donors' hearts by discovering attractive thank-you gifts worth 30,000 points that 100,000 KRW donors can select.

Since November 8, the 'Homigot Dol Octopus Sliced Boiled' event, including a free ramen giveaway, and a 50% discount event on surfing lessons are also noteworthy.

Through the surfing lesson discount event, which is temporarily held until the end of this year, donors contributing 100,000 KRW can enjoy Pohang's winter sea without burden and experience the charm of Pohang as a marine leisure tourism city.

A Pohang city official said, "We plan to provide unique thank-you gifts exclusive to Pohang, targeting office workers and the MZ generation who pursue value consumption as the main promotional targets," and added, "We ask for much interest in the Pohang City Hometown Love Donation Program."

The Hometown Love Donation Program is a donation system where if you donate to a local government other than your registered address, the local government uses the donation for residents' welfare improvement and provides donors with thank-you gifts and tax benefits.
