The Korea Exchange, Korea Securities Depository, Korea Securities Finance, and Korea Financial Investment Association are jointly hosting a discussion forum on short selling system improvements.
On the 2nd, the Financial Services Commission announced that on the 4th at 4 p.m., they will discuss key directions for improving the short selling system under the theme "Resolving the Tilted Playing Field Related to Short Selling." The discussion will be broadcast live on the Sampro TV YouTube channel.
The forum will be conducted in three sessions. In the first session, the Korea Financial Investment Association will explain the main points of the short selling system improvement directions. The Depository and Securities Finance will talk about the domestic securities lending and borrowing system and introduce overseas cases.
In the second session, representatives from academia, industry, and investors will participate to share their opinions on the directions for improving the short selling system. The Korea Stock Investors Association will participate as the investor representative, while Mirae Asset Securities and Samsung Securities will join as industry representatives. In the third session, a Q&A will take place with these participants.
