‘Fire Hero Keeper’ Program Delivers 30 Million Won Consolation Payment to Families of Fallen Firefighters
S-OIL (CEO Anwar Al Hizazi) will provide a condolence payment of 30 million KRW to the family of the late Firefighter Im Seong-cheol (29 years old) of Jeju Eastern Fire Station, who died in the line of duty while extinguishing a warehouse fire in Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju.
The late Firefighter Im Seong-cheol was dispatched to a fire that broke out at a warehouse in Sehwa-ri, Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo-si, Jeju, around 12:49 AM on the 1st, where he tragically lost his life while conducting firefighting and rescue operations.
An S-OIL representative stated, “We pray for the repose of the firefighter who dedicated himself to protecting the safety and lives of the public and suffered an unfortunate accident. We express our deepest condolences to the bereaved family,” adding, “We hope that S-OIL’s condolence payment will help the family overcome their grief and live stably, even if only a little.”
Since 2006, S-OIL has been partnering with the National Fire Agency through the ‘Firefighter Hero Keeper’ agreement, continuously supporting systematic activities such as awarding hero firefighters, providing condolence payments and scholarships to families of fallen firefighters, offering encouragement funds to injured firefighters, and organizing rest camps for firefighter couples.
