Fresh Uljin Strawberries from a Pristine Environment Begin Full-Scale Shipment Starting from November 28, the clean strawberry harvest in Uljin officially begins, beginning with the smart farm operated by young farmer Nam Jung-ho in Uljin-eup.

In Uljin-gun, strawberries are cultivated on 1.8 hectares across 10 farms, focusing on the Seolhyang variety, which is highly preferred by consumers. This year, the strawberry crop is better than last year, raising expectations for increased farm income.

Uljin strawberries are produced in the warm climate and sea breeze of the East Coast, resulting in high sugar content and dense texture, earning favorable reviews from consumers and establishing themselves as a high-income crop.

Especially this year, the Agricultural Technology Center supported strawberry seedling facilities and customized on-site technology, strengthening Uljin-gun strawberry farms' capacity to produce high-quality strawberry seedlings independently. Additionally, after main planting, appropriate environmental management improved initial establishment rates, and an efficient pest and disease control system was established, laying the foundation for producing high-quality strawberries.

County Governor Son Byung-bok said, “Uljin-gun is an optimal place for strawberry cultivation due to its warm winter climate influenced by the maritime climate,” adding, “The strawberries produced in Uljin-gun are also of excellent quality, and we plan to develop them as a specialty product in the era of ten million Uljin tourists.”
