Gwangyang City Hall, which first received certification in 2015, obtained the second re-certification this time following the first re-certification in 2020, maintaining its qualification for three years until 2026.

Gwangyang City Hall has designated every Wednesday as ‘Family Love Day’ to promote a culture of leaving work on time, encouraged maternity leave and parental leave for both male and female employees, supported reduced working hours during childcare periods, and provided supplies for pregnancy and childbirth to support childbirth and parenting.

Additionally, through various family participation projects such as supporting domestic cultural explorations for all employees, family unity sports competitions, cultural explorations with families, and filial tourism for employees supporting elderly parents, the city has strived to create a family-friendly organizational culture that balances work and life.

Moreover, to reduce the workload burden on employees caused by official duties and to help employees maintain psychological stability at work, the city promoted comprehensive administrative liability insurance enrollment for employees, operated employee psychological counseling programs, provided family vacation facilities, and expanded special leave systems for long-term service.

Jung In-hwa, Mayor of Gwangyang, said, “With the belief that ‘happy employees lead to happy citizens,’ we will spare no effort to create a ‘workplace where work is enjoyable’ through various supports,” and added, “We will work hard to spread a family-friendly culture not only at Gwangyang City Hall but also in all companies and institutions in Gwangyang.”
