People Power Party to Announce 5 New Candidates for General Election Next Week

"Leading Talents in Each Field... Considering Running for Local Constituency"

The People Power Party's Talent Recruitment Committee will announce about five new recruits next week who will be presented as the party's faces for next year's general election.

After concluding the third meeting at the party's central office on the morning of the same day, Assemblyman Jo Jeong-hoon, a member of the Talent Recruitment Committee, told reporters, "If the National Assembly situation remains unstable like today, there is a possibility of an extension," but added, "If the situation stabilizes and the phase moves forward, we plan to announce the recruits."

Assemblyman Jo explained that the five recruits to be revealed represent various fields. He elaborated, "I think we will announce individuals who can represent responsibility toward the future, those who symbolize orderly change and specific sectors, and those who can unify society."

These individuals are being recruited with the intention of running for constituency seats rather than proportional representation. Jo said, "They are primarily those who have agreed to run in constituencies. We will have to see how the nomination committee decides on candidacies, but based on their profiles and regions, you can probably guess where they will run."

He also emphasized that there is no 'note recruitment' through personal connections. Jo stated, "There is absolutely no so-called note recruitment where senior members recommend candidates from Yongsan," adding, "Our six committee members have gone through the most transparent process, excluding anyone if even one member expresses doubts or negative opinions."

Furthermore, Jo cautioned against overinterpreting the order of recruitment. He said, "There is no 'number one recruit,'" and continued, "Many of the confirmed individuals need to wrap up their current work. Just because some are not announced does not mean they are not good talents. I want to emphasize again that the order?number one being the most important, number two second?is not indicative of priority."

The Talent Recruitment Committee plans to recruit a total of 40 talents through future meetings. Among them, about 10 will present their platforms on the 19th, and an event will be held to gauge public support. Jo said, "We will conduct a favorability vote among the 10 talents to observe the results and reflect them as much as possible in future recruitments and strategic nominations."
