Installed in Local Public Hospitals
"Will Become a Stepping Stone for ASEAN Expansion"
Medical AI company Lunit announced on the 1st that it has been selected as the final contractor in the bid for the construction project of the medical AI platform 'AimSG (AI Medical Imaging Platform for Singapore)' launched by Synapse, Singapore's state-owned medical technology institution, to innovate public healthcare services.
Synapse is a government-affiliated organization that integrally manages the IT systems of Singapore's public hospitals. To manage medical data in Singapore's public hospitals, it is mandatory to use Synapse's system.
Recently, Synapse launched the national medical AI platform AimSG service and conducted a global bid for a chest X-ray AI image analysis solution. Lunit participated in the bid and was selected as the final contractor. Accordingly, the chest X-ray AI image analysis solution 'Lunit INSIGHT CXR' will be supplied in earnest.
Synapse plans to install the AimSG service in major public hospitals in Singapore, including Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital. After installation, Lunit's AI solution will be utilized at each hospital through the AimSG platform. Lunit expects that the establishment of the AimSG service, including Lunit INSIGHT CXR, will improve diagnostic accuracy and reduce consultation time for local medical staff, demonstrating the benefits of AI utilization.
Dr. Charleen Liu, Chief Medical Information Officer at Changi General Hospital, who oversaw the AimSG development project, said, "By utilizing AI solutions, medical staff can provide better healthcare services to patients," adding, "This will enable the so-called 3P realization for medical staff and patients: Prevent, Predict, and Personalize."
Seobum Seok, CEO of Lunit, said, "This collaboration with Synapse will greatly contribute to the innovation of Singapore's public healthcare and serve as another opportunity to emphasize Lunit's global competitiveness," adding, "In particular, since Singapore plays a central role in the ASEAN region, success here is expected to be a stepping stone for expansion throughout ASEAN."
