November 29 to December 8, Seongsan-myeon Tomato Fresh Farmhouses
Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, held an opening ceremony for on-site technical training for about 30 returnees to farming in their 1st to 3rd year on the 29th at a leading tomato farm in Seongsan-myeon.
Lectures will be conducted twice a week, visiting leading farms of tomatoes, Hallabong, strawberries, and flowers a total of four times until December 8.
The training participants are beginner returnees to farming with less than three years of experience and prospective returnees. In addition, people from all over the country, including Daegu City and Gyeonggi Province, applied for the training with dreams of returning to farming and rural life in Goryeong-gun. Beginner returnees hoped that Goryeong-gun, which has a variety of crops and is adjacent to a metropolitan area, would continue to provide high-quality education in the future to greatly assist returnees to farming.
County Governor Lee Nam-cheol said, “We hope to provide practical education on-site and the latest agricultural information to help returnees to farming, who lack farming technology and experience, to overcome difficulties and achieve stable agricultural startups and settlement.”
