Gyeongnam Junggi Cheong Hosts Healing Camp for SME Recovery and Crisis Overcoming Rechallenge Gyeongnam-style Rechallenge Healing Camp.

This event is one of the ‘2023 Regional Small Business Development Joint Projects’ promoted jointly by Gyeongnam Bank and the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration to revitalize the local economy. It was organized through public-private cooperation between the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration and the Rechallenge Officer School to improve the negative perception of ‘failure,’ overcome management crises, and spread an atmosphere that encourages successful re-entrepreneurship.

After the announcement on October 23, participants were recruited for about a month until November 24. As a result, 20 individuals who had closed or restarted businesses or were small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners facing management crises but had a strong will to restart were given priority selection.

On the first day, immediately after a brief entrance ceremony, participants analyzed the causes of failure and conducted a self-diagnosis to assess their willingness to rechallenge. This was followed by a lecture on the theme of ‘The Mindset of Entrepreneurs for Rechallenge.’

On the second day, based on the self-diagnosis results from the previous day, theory and practice on customized success strategies for participants were conducted. Subsequently, three organizations?the Small and Medium Business Corporation, the Small Enterprise and Market Service, and the Gyeongnam Credit Guarantee Foundation?introduced government and local government support policies that could provide practical help to the participants.

Choi Yeolsu, head of the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, said, “I hope this Rechallenge Healing Camp served as an opportunity for the participating small and medium enterprises and small business owners to eliminate their fear of failure and lay the first stepping stone for a new leap forward.” He added, “Going forward, the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration will continue to make efforts through public-private cooperation to help businesses overcome difficulties and grow.”
