Gwanak District Mayor Park Junhee and Residents' Happy Communication 'Mobile Gwanakcheong (聽)' Successfully Concluded

"For the health of our district residents, we will create five areas of Hwangtotgil (yellow soil paths), five Hwangto yards, and five barefoot walking paths by next spring."

On November 7th, Park Junhee, Mayor of Gwanak-gu, responded to residents' requests for the creation of Hwangtotgil at the 'Mobile Gwanakcheong(聽)' held at Nanhyang-dong Community Service Center.

Since the beginning of Park Junhee's first term in the 7th local government, the district has been practicing the core values of district administration?'communication and cooperation'?through 'Gwanakcheong(聽)'.

Gwanakcheong(聽) is a communication forum held every Thursday at the district office, where Mayor Park meets residents directly to address their suggestions and complaints.

In addition, to accommodate residents who find it difficult to visit the district office due to health reasons, the district operates the field-centered 'Mobile Gwanakcheong(聽)', visiting schools, senior centers, and community service centers to listen closely to residents' voices.

Starting from Miseong-dong on November 1st and continuing through Euncheon-dong on November 22nd, Mayor Park toured all 21 community service centers in the district, engaging in meaningful conversations with residents and sharing key district administration updates.

As a result, about 2,300 residents participated in the 'Mobile Gwanakcheong(聽)', enthusiastically proposing 250 complaints or policy suggestions.

The most frequent topic among residents' suggestions was the installation of 'road heating cables' to prepare for winter. Installing road heating cables enables prompt response during heavy snowfall in winter, reducing the risk of safety accidents.

Accordingly, the district plans to select target sites based on priority and complete the installation of heating cables by the end of the year in areas such as the alley next to Doosan Apartments in Euncheon-dong and the court complex area in Nangok-dong. For sections without installation, a thorough snow removal response system using various equipment will be established to ensure a safe winter.

Furthermore, the district transferred all suggestions received through 'Mobile Gwanakcheong(聽)' to relevant departments for processing, and these departments promptly communicated the results to residents. In particular, when processing was difficult, reasons such as laws and budgets were fully explained to ensure the proposers' understanding.

As of the 27th, the district has processed 180 out of 250 suggestions (72%), and policy proposals requiring long-term review will be reflected in future district administration to continue communication and cooperative governance.

Mayor Park Junhee said, "I believe that the mayor elected by the people should always be accessible. I hope many people visit Gwanakcheong, which is always wide open on the first floor of Gwanak District Office," adding, "With the mindset of 'listening to understand the heart (以聽得心)', I will listen more attentively to residents' voices and create a 'Gwanak where residents are happy'."
