Pukyong National University Hosts 'National Public and National University Presidents' Council' Meeting

On the 30th of this month, the National Pukyong National University will host the "2023 4th National Conference of Presidents of National and Public Universities" at the Multipurpose Hall on the 3rd floor of Engineering Building 1.

Hosted by the National Conference of Presidents of National and Public Universities and organized by National Pukyong National University, this event will be attended by presidents of national and public universities nationwide, as well as officials from the Ministry of Education and the Korea Council for University Education.

The Conference of Presidents is a consultative body where presidents of 40 national and public universities across the country participate to discuss policy issues related to national and public universities, propose major university policies, and contribute to university development through mutual exchange and cooperation among universities.

During the meeting, the conference will engage in dialogue with the Ministry of Education and discuss agenda items including ▲allowing transfer admissions for mid-term dropouts from teacher training colleges ▲permitting joint bachelor's and master's degree programs with overseas universities ▲and recommending candidates for executive positions in the Korea Council for University Education.

After the meeting, attendees will also participate in a tour of National Pukyong National University's smart bio-sports facility, the Water Leisure Center, and other specialized marine facilities, as well as cultural events.

President Jang Young-su of National Pukyong National University stated, "Through this conference, we expect to have in-depth discussions with presidents of national and public universities nationwide on pressing issues facing universities, and to expand cooperation and communication aimed at finding ways to innovate universities and advance higher education."

On the morning of the same day, the "2023 4th National Conference of Presidents of National and Public Universities Centered on 19 National Universities" will also be held at the Dongwon Jangbo Hall of National Pukyong National University.
