Korean Real Estate Analysis Association and HUG Hold Seminar on Commercial Real Estate Market Diagnosis

The Korea Real Estate Analysis Society announced on the 29th that it will hold the '2023 Second Half Academic Conference' on the 1st of next month at the Haebong Real Estate Hall of Konkuk University.

This academic conference is co-hosted with the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG), which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, and the theme is 'Outlook and Analysis of the Commercial Real Estate Market.' It was organized to explore the current status and prospects of the domestic and international commercial real estate markets, which are facing difficulties due to economic recession, and to seek corresponding countermeasures. The society expects it to be a collaborative platform with participation from experts of various institutions.


The conference consists of a total of 13 sessions. In the policy seminar presentations, presenters include Sang-Young Bae, team leader at Daishin Securities (U.S. real estate market, is the office myth a thing of the past?), Jin-Woo Jung, team leader at Cushman & Wakefield (Current status and outlook of the commercial real estate market), and Kwang-Woo Hong, research fellow at HUG (Funding methods and policy implications for local government station-area urban redevelopment projects).


Professor Hyun-Seok Lee of Konkuk University will chair the comprehensive discussion of the policy seminar, with participants including Kyu-Jin Kim, director of Zenstamate Center, Mi-Sook Kim, research fellow at KB Securities, Sung-Hoon Min, professor at Suwon University, Seung-Chul Yang, professor at Myongji College, and Seok-Hwan Choi, research fellow at Suwon City Research Institute.


In addition, there will be various presentations and discussions through sessions such as Woori Bank’s institutional session on 'Real Estate Development and Project Financing (PF) Loans,' ▲ Korea Real Estate Board and Real Estate Statistics Committee joint session (Exploring improvements and development plans for housing statistics), ▲ Korea Association of Certified Appraisers institutional session (Improvement plans for intangible asset appraisal to develop the appraisal industry), ▲ Korea PropTech Forum and PropTech Committee joint session (The role of PropTech in the commercial real estate market), ▲ Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) Land and Housing Research Institute institutional session (Housing conditions and policy tasks for newlyweds), ▲ Korea Research Institute for Human Settlements and Women’s Committee joint session (Future real estate demand response through national land reserve), ▲ Korea REITs Association and Indirect Investment Committee joint session (Large-scale listing of REITs and asset diversification plans), and ▲ graduate student paper presentation sessions.


Shin Jong-Chil, president of the society, said, "The commercial real estate market is causing great concern, so detailed diagnosis and discussion on countermeasures are necessary. Since many experts from academia, public institutions, and industry will attend to continue in-depth discussions, we ask for your great interest."
