The Department of Air Traffic Management at Silla University held a mentoring-style special lecture titled ‘Air Busan Flight Dispatcher’s Visiting Dream Mentor.’
This mentoring-style special lecture took place on the 23rd at Silla University’s Future Aviation Convergence Hall, targeting students of the Department of Air Traffic Management. It is one of the aviation job projects supported by the Busan Economic Promotion Agency with the support of Busan City.
Busan City and the Busan Economic Promotion Agency are promoting the ‘Busan Aviation Workforce Development Project’ to lead the aviation industry as a strategic industry of Busan following the construction of the Gadeokdo New Airport. They also support mentoring-style special lectures by current professionals for students aspiring to work in the aviation industry.

The special lecture held at Silla University’s Department of Air Traffic Management featured Lee Hyun-min, a flight dispatcher at Air Busan’s flight control center, who participated as a Dream Mentor. He explained the role and importance of flight dispatchers at airlines and addressed students’ questions during a Q&A session.
Student Han Seung-hyo, who participated in the special lecture, said, “I tried not to miss a single moment of the mentoring, and the mentor’s lecture was so interesting that I was fully engaged, so the time passed very quickly, which was a bit disappointing. I hope such mentoring special lectures will be held frequently in the future so that we can gain more experience from current professionals.”
Lee Doo-hyung, head of the Department of Air Traffic Management, said, “Our department was selected in September for the ‘Establishment of a Specialized Training Institution for Air Traffic Controllers’ project as an autonomous task of Busan City’s ‘Local Government-University Cooperation-Based Regional Innovation Project (RIS),’ which has laid the foundation to train not only flight dispatchers but also air traffic controllers.”
He added, “We will strive to nurture talent who will lead the future aviation industry and continue the reputation of the only aviation university in the southeastern region.”
