Ulsan City Selected as an Excellent Case for 'Urban Color Policy'
The urban environment design improvement project promoted by Ulsan City was selected as an excellent case of urban color policy.
Ulsan City announced on the 27th that it won the ‘Green (GREEN) Award’ in the spatial environment category at the ‘23rd Korea Color Awards’ held on the 25th, under the theme of ‘Establishment of an All-in-One Urban Color Administrative System & Citizen Service’.
The Korea Color Awards is the only domestic award event for color culture, hosted by the Korean Society of Color Studies and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. It selects and awards outstanding cases related to color to promote the development of color culture and enhance the professionalism of color projects.
It is especially regarded as the most prestigious award related to color, with participation from not only administrative agencies but also companies competing together.
The awards were given in 11 categories including ▲landscape ▲architecture & interior ▲products, divided into Red (RED, Innovation), Green (GREEN, Spatial Environment), and Blue (BLUE, Technology) awards.
Ulsan City has been working on building an administrative system with a systematic and comprehensive approach in the field of urban color, commercializing the application of ‘Ulsan Urban Color’ based on the ‘2035 Ulsan City Urban Color Plan,’ and applying it to public and private facilities to establish the city’s image.
It also received high evaluations for developing and supporting color designs needed by citizens, moving away from one-time environmental improvement projects to continuous urban color formation.
An official from Ulsan City said, “Cooperation between the public and private sectors is important to form urban color, which is a key element in building the city image and securing the place identity of a tourist city,” adding, “We will work with citizens and experts to implement landscape color policies for the people of Ulsan.”
