Hyundai Motor Group's Busan Expo art cars arrived in Paris, France, on the 23rd, where the host city for the 2030 World Expo will be finally decided, and are making a last-ditch all-out effort to attract the Busan World Expo.
Hyundai Motor Group announced on the 26th that it deployed 10 Ioniq 6 and EV6 art cars in Paris, France, ahead of the vote to select the host city for the 2030 World Expo scheduled for the 28th (local time).
Since the 23rd, Hyundai Motor Group’s art cars have been touring major landmarks such as the Louvre Museum and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, as well as areas near the BIE headquarters and various embassies.
On the 28th, the day of the 173rd BIE General Assembly where the host city selection vote will take place, the plan is to focus on circulating around the meeting venue, Le Palais des Congr?s d'Issy, to leave a strong impression of Busan on the representatives from each country participating in the vote.
In addition to the art cars, Hyundai Motor Group is broadcasting large-scale digital outdoor video advertisements showcasing the charm of Busan on over 270 digital screens located in key areas of Paris, including major landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower, areas near embassies in Paris, densely populated areas such as Ternes and Saint Lazare train stations, and major commercial districts including La D?fense.
In September, Hyundai Motor Group specially produced the Busan Expo art cars to raise awareness of the Busan Expo and attract global attention. The exterior of the Busan Expo art cars is wrapped with graffiti that emotionally and colorfully expresses Busan’s key symbols such as seagulls and the Gwangan Bridge, along with the slogan “BUSAN is Ready.”
A Hyundai Motor Group official said, “Hyundai Motor Group has carried out differentiated support activities for the bid by actively utilizing the global networks of key executives for local negotiations, as well as through the Busan Expo art cars and Busan Expo storytelling videos.”
Meanwhile, at the 173rd BIE General Assembly, final presentations (PT) by the three candidate cities?Busan, South Korea; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; and Rome, Italy?will be held, followed by a vote by BIE member country representatives to select the host city.
