The Citizens' Coalition for Democratic Media (CCDM) announced on the 24th that it has selected Asia Economy's "Dissecting the Divided Budget ODA Chasing National Interest in Words - K Aid Tracker" (Photo Department Heo Young-han, Political Department Koo Chae-eun, International Department Jeon Jin-young, Sejong Reporting Team Song Seung-seop, Visual Plot CEO Shin Yoo-jin) as the winner of the 'Good Reporting of the Month' award for November.
CCDM stated the reason for the selection, saying, "It revealed issues with Official Development Assistance (ODA) through comprehensive data analysis and thoroughly verified them, fulfilling its role in power oversight and monitoring." CCDM also added, "Amid the proliferation of promotional articles about ODA budget increases, this report received praise for faithfully performing the media's role by examining ODA issues in blind spots from multiple perspectives. It was also impressive that the report concretely exposed ODA problems by visiting the solar power project site in Quang Binh Province, Vietnam, the country receiving the most aid from Korea, and sharing honest stories from local residents."
In addition, Kyunghyang Shinmun's "Such an XY Supreme Court" was also selected as a winning work. The award ceremony will be held on the 29th at 2 p.m. at CCDM in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
