Purple Island Sends Purple Balloons Filled with Wishes into the Sky
On the 23rd, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Park Woo-ryang) held a Purple Santa and Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony on Purple Island with about 300 attendees.
According to the county on the 24th, this lighting ceremony, now in its third year, began with the hope of comforting the weary hearts of tourists visiting Purple Island and local residents, and wishing them a warm winter.

Additionally, an event was held where local residents released purple balloons carrying their wishes for Purple Island high into the sky.
The large Christmas tree adorned with beautiful purple lights and the Santa dressed in purple on Purple Island will color the night sky of Purple Island purple until the end of January next year.
Governor Park Woo-ryang said, “I hope that the purple light of love illuminated on Purple Island will become a light of love during these economically difficult times and carry new hope and prospects.”
