Located in Sangnam-dong, Seongsan-gu (58 Sangnam-ro 21), the Changwon City Comprehensive Volunteer Center was built with a total project cost of 5.58 billion KRW, covering a total area of 1,582.68㎡, with one basement floor and three above-ground floors. The center provides various spaces such as offices, program rooms, and a large auditorium to carry out diverse volunteer activities.

Until now, the Changwon City Volunteer Centers were established and operated separately in three areas?Changwon, Masan, and Jinhae?since July 1996 and November 1997, respectively. However, each center had limited space, and the separated regional operations made it difficult to efficiently respond to the continuously increasing volunteer demand and changes.

With the establishment of the Changwon City Comprehensive Volunteer Center, it is expected to perform the role of leadership in Changwon’s volunteer activities by supporting operations to revitalize volunteering, providing leadership training for managers and citizens, and supporting program development. It will also help spread the value of volunteering through sharing practices in the local community.

Mayor Hong said, “I am pleased that the Comprehensive Volunteer Center, which is the aspiration of 310,000 volunteers, has been established, providing a space where various volunteer programs can be operated and volunteers can be active.” He added, “We will do our best to fulfill our role as a volunteer hub and take a step forward to make Changwon the leading city in volunteering.”
