HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Selected as an ESG Excellence Company by Korea ESG Standards Institute

Received A+ Grade in This Year's ESG Evaluation

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment was selected as an outstanding company in the Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) category at the '2023 Korea ESG Standards Institute Excellence Awards' held on the 24th at the Korea Exchange Seoul Office.

The Korea ESG Standards Institute is a leading ESG evaluation organization in Korea that annually selects companies that have made efforts to improve ESG as 'Excellent Companies' and 'Honorary Companies.' This year, evaluations were conducted on a total of 1,049 companies, including 987 listed companies and 62 unlisted companies, selecting 6 outstanding companies in the ESG category, 7 in the governance category, and 1 honorary company, totaling 14 companies.

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment received an A+ rating in the '2023 ESG Evaluation and Rating' announced last month by the Korea ESG Standards Institute, rising one grade from last year's integrated rating of A. In particular, the environmental rating improved significantly from B+ last year to A+ this year. The social rating also improved from A last year to A+ this year.

The company received positive evaluations for strengthening environmental leadership and governance, disclosing the financial impact of climate change risks, and additionally revealing environmental goals and performance. It was also praised for enhancing supply chain ESG support projects and publicly sharing the code of conduct for partner companies.

HD Hyundai Construction Equipment holds quarterly ESG Management Committee meetings chaired by President Choi Cheol-gon to identify and promote key ESG agendas. On the environmental front, the company has declared achieving global RE100 (100% renewable energy use) by 2040 and carbon neutrality by 2050.
