Recently, in the food industry, a consumption trend called Me+Economy, centered around MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) customers who seek value in their purchases, has been spreading, leading to an increase in consumers looking for foods made from plant-based ingredients. Sales of functional milk products based on plant-based ingredients such as almonds and oats sold at Seven Eleven increased by 130% from January to October this year compared to the same period last year. More than 60% of the purchasing customers were in their 20s and 30s.

Seven Eleven stated that amid the convenience store fresh cream bread craze, they introduced the plant-based cream bread Vbread Cr?me d'Amande made from plant-based ingredients to expand the choices for customers pursuing value consumption. It is characterized by enhancing the texture of the bread without using animal-derived ingredients such as butter, eggs, or milk, which are the main ingredients of bread. Instead of using eggs and butter, differentiated enzyme technology was applied to create volume and delay bread aging, and extra virgin olive oil was used to replace the milk flavor.

Using vegan-certified soy milk and plant-based cream, consumers can enjoy the unique rich taste that only plant-based cream bread can offer, and the addition of almond paste provides a distinctive nutty flavor.

Meanwhile, the convenience store fresh cream bread craze continues this year as well, following last year. Analyzing Seven Eleven’s dessert sales from January to October this year, the top three dessert products were all fresh cream breads: 1st place was 'Jeju Milk Fresh Cream Bread,' 2nd was 'Jeju Milk Cookie and Cream Bread,' and 3rd was 'Seol Farm Milk Fresh Cream Bun.' Since the launch of Jeju Milk Fresh Cream Bread in January this year, sales in Seven Eleven’s refrigerated dessert bread category increased by 120% compared to the previous year, which also led to a 40% increase in total dessert category sales year-on-year.
