Additionally, Canon Korea will join Hanyang University ERICA's industry field-oriented industry-academia cooperation model 'IC-PBL' program. This program is Hanyang University ERICA's educational model where students solve real industrial field challenges through connections among industries, local communities, and the university.

Canon Korea proposed the 'Vision Algorithm Technology Development' project as an IC-PBL class assignment to improve quality control efficiency and secure backup data in smart factory processes. This project is being carried out through the Deep Learning course of ERICA's Department of Mathematical Data Science in the second semester of this year and will continue into the first semester of next year.

Lee Ki-jung, President of Hanyang University, said, "I hope this agreement will break down the boundaries between universities and companies through IC-PBL and lead to education and research that contribute to society," adding, "We will strive to establish a cooperative relationship where universities and companies create synergy."

Park Jung-woo, CEO of Canon Korea, said, "We expect to create high synergy in technology research and talent development through cooperation among local communities and universities in the Ansan area," and added, "Canon Korea will continue to discover future growth engines in various industrial sectors centered on domestic key regions."
