Yang Jong-hee, Chairman of KB Financial Group, emphasized that "what is needed in an era where uncertainty has become the norm is not traditional crisis response capabilities but evolved crisis response capabilities."

According to KB Financial on the 23rd, Chairman Yang stated in a CEO message at the 'KB Investor Insight 2024' conference held the previous day at the new building of KB Kookmin Bank headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, "We must distinguish and diagnose 'market uncertainties' such as global supply chain instability, prolonged high interest rates, and geopolitical risks, from 'era uncertainties' such as population decline, climate change, and the emergence of artificial intelligence," emphasizing this point.

The conference, held under the theme "Anti-fragile: KB's Challenge for New Prosperity Beyond Uncertainty," was attended by Chairman Yang, Park Jung-rim, CEO of KB Securities, Han Dong-hwan, Head of the Holding Company Management Research Institute, Lee Hyun-seung, CEO of KB Asset Management, and other executives from the holding company and affiliates.

Chairman Yang identified 'anti-fragile' as the capability that customers, society, and KB should possess. The concept of anti-fragile was first introduced by Nassim Taleb, author of "The Black Swan," and refers to the ability not only to withstand shocks and uncertainties but also to benefit from them and actually thrive.

To achieve this, Chairman Yang explained that it is necessary to build a strong safety net, and based on that safety net, be able to absorb various risks, take rewards, and connect them to growth. He also emphasized that when uncertainties become certain and materialize, it is essential to accept them flexibly and adapt quickly.

Furthermore, Chairman Yang added, "KB Financial will spare no effort to support the balanced growth of our entire society based on diversity," and "We will strive to create customer happiness and a better world."
