Naver's startup nurturing organization D2SF (D2 Startup Factory) has made a new investment.
On the 23rd, D2SF announced that it has made a new investment in the AI operation automation startup 'DeepAuto.' DeepAuto is challenging to lower the commercialization hurdles of AI based on differentiated AI operation automation technology.
DeepAuto is developing its own machine learning automation (AutoMLOps) that automates the entire process of adopting and operating AI models for companies. AutoMLOps is a solution that supports the entire AI application cycle, including data processing and training, model search and performance verification, optimization, and service deployment. It not only minimizes the personnel and costs required for AI adoption and operation but also maximizes AI performance according to corporate needs, leading to rapid growth of related industries globally.
In particular, DeepAuto's AutoMLOps boasts a more efficient process compared to other solutions. Internal tests confirmed a significant advantage in model search and training time compared to similar solutions from global big tech companies such as Google and Microsoft, and it also has competitiveness in data security. Additionally, it has succeeded in implementing the same performance as existing solutions at an overwhelmingly low cost. Based on this technological capability, it was recently selected for the 'Deep Tech TIPS' program, and in 2024, it plans to first introduce a solution focused on minimizing GPU costs and then expand its product lineup.
Currently, DeepAuto is preparing its business targeting various companies wishing to adopt AI. It has already secured partners such as Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology, Cheil Worldwide, and StradVision, quickly generating sales and proving marketability. It has built a business network not only domestically but also locally in North America, and plans to use this as a foothold to actively continue business in the United States. To accelerate product advancement and entry into the U.S. market, it is aggressively recruiting talent in various roles such as engineering, design, and business development.
DeepAuto is a startup founded mainly by Professor Seongju Hwang of KAIST AI Graduate School and members with master's and doctoral degrees. The team has achieved outstanding research results in the AutoMLOps field and has rich experience in the industrial field. In particular, CEO Seongju Hwang is a serial entrepreneur who co-founded an AI startup before founding DeepAuto. After establishing the corporation, they attracted their first institutional investment from Naver D2SF and are currently residing at D2SF@Gangnam, exploring various synergies with Naver related to generative AI.
Yang Sanghwan, leader of Naver D2SF, said, "Although AI technology is rapidly developing, there are still many difficulties in adopting and operating AI in corporate fields," adding, "DeepAuto is a startup that enables AI to be used in actual corporate fields, and it will grow into an essential company that creates new value in reality, not just technology."
