Lotte Department Store announced on the 23rd that it will open a massive 'Christmas Market' spanning 600 pyeong in the plaza in front of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil, Seoul.
The market will be held from the 24th until December 25th, featuring a comprehensive range of Christmas-themed shopping and food. A total of 25 brands will participate, showcasing approximately 2,000 products. This market also offers a unique opportunity to experience the German Christmas specialty store brand 'K?the Wohlfahrt,' established in 1964, exclusively in Korea. K?the Wohlfahrt will sell signature items such as handmade nutcracker dolls, ornaments, and music boxes. Additionally, brands like 'The Village Shop,' 'Anssi,' and 'Moomin' will present Christmas items including lighting and cards, while 'Parisery Fruits' and 'Wicked Wife' will offer desserts and cookies.
At the center of the market, a large glass house approximately 7 meters high will attract the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z). An outdoor terrace will feature an 'outdoor dining area' reminiscent of European flea markets. Visitors can enjoy winter snacks while soaking in the outdoor atmosphere, with offerings such as Gl?hwein (mulled wine), Nuremberg sausages, bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry), and fish cake.
The Christmas Market will operate both on a 'ticket admission system' and a 'first-come, first-served on-site admission system.' Through the Lotte Department Store app, 100 tickets per day will be sold, and citizens who purchase paid admission tickets can enter via a fast track with one accompanying person. Visitors can also make reservations on-site and enter for free according to the waiting order. The venue plans to manage the number of visitors by time slots to ensure a comfortable experience.
Another Christmas-themed plaza is also operating on the outdoor lawn plaza. Since the 10th, Lotte World Tower has been showcasing the Christmas-themed garden 'Wonder Wish Garden.' It features the 19-meter-high 'Big Wish Tree' as well as a carousel and carriage decorated with over 2,000 lights reminiscent of a fairy tale amusement park.
A representative from Lotte Department Store stated, "With the addition of an 'authentic European Christmas Market' in Jamsil Lotte Town, we have completed a true Christmas sanctuary unlike any other." They added, "We expect many visitors regardless of family, couples, or foreigners, making it the hottest winter destination at the end of this year."
