Kim Yoon-cheol, Hapcheon County Governor, Joins Call for Enactment of Space Aviation Agency Special Act

Hapcheon County in Gyeongnam Province participated in the Gyeongnam Mayors and County Governors Council relay campaign on the 22nd, urging the enactment of the "Special Act on the Establishment and Operation of the Space Aviation Agency."

On this day, about 40 senior officials, including County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol, took part in urging the enactment of the special law.

This campaign, involving all 18 cities and counties in Gyeongnam Province, started in Miryang City on the 10th and will continue until the 23rd.

County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol said, "In the era of intensified space aviation competition, we must promptly establish the Space Aviation Agency, which encompasses industry, security, and international cooperation, to secure the nation's core competitiveness and prepare for future generations." He added, "I hope the special law will be enacted as soon as possible to ensure not only the development of Gyeongnam but also the enhancement of national competitiveness."

Meanwhile, the special law on the Space Aviation Agency was referred to the Ministry of Science and ICT in April and even formed a coordination committee, but it has not been passed due to a lack of consensus.
