Recently, Emart has been renewing existing stores with the goal of occupying customers' time and creating spaces to engage with customers. The Hawolgok branch also underwent renewal work to attract new tenants that are trendy, cost-effective, and provide a good experience for customers within the store.

The Emart Hawolgok branch compressed its directly managed store from approximately 7,603㎡ (about 2,300 pyeong) by reducing 770 pyeong to a 5,058㎡ (1,530 pyeong) store, expanding the tenant area accordingly to introduce new brands such as Nitori, Daiso, and Footmart, thereby strengthening experiential content.

Emart's strength in grocery (food) directly managed stores was diversified by expanding premium varieties and enhancing store layout and product display from the customer's perspective. Emart has renewed a total of 12 stores up to the third quarter this year. As a result, the total number of customers in the second and third quarters of this year increased by 5.5% and 5.8%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Nitori, which opened its first store in Korea at Emart Hawolgok, is Japan's largest furniture and home furnishing retail company, starting as a furniture specialty store in 1967 and expanding its product range to daily necessities and miscellaneous goods. To commemorate the opening of the first Korean store, Nitori Hawolgok will hold a 10% discount event on about 200 popular items until December 6.

Daiso at Emart will also open on the 23rd. Daiso Hawolgok will hold a related product exhibition with the seasonal display concept of "Santa's gifts pouring from the sky" for Christmas.

Prior to this, Emart Hawolgok has been operating Footmart since the 27th of last month. Footmart, established in 2002, is a domestic multi-shoe store that operates a total of 51 stores from the first store opened in Gasan-dong to the recently opened Hawolgok branch. It sells global brands such as Nike, Adidas, Lacoste, as well as private brands (PB) like Double Star, Diman, and Kokui.
