The Village Learning Center is a learning and meeting space that shares idle spaces within the village with local residents. It was established to designate public facilities and small business sites as learning centers, creating a nearby lifelong learning environment throughout the village and providing opportunities for knowledge acquisition.
The city offered various courses such as pop songs, art therapy, Nanta, and barista skills, with over 150 participants across 14 village learning centers.
In particular, the “Happy Art Color Therapy” program involved classes where participants understood their minds through drawing and discovered their latent abilities. After the education, participants shared stories with family and village members based on what they learned, fostering a stronger local educational community.
Lee Jong-woo, Director of the Lifelong Learning Center, said, “We will do our best to expand a sustainable local education cooperation ecosystem by offering educational courses in various fields tailored to the characteristics of learners.”
