Targeting vulnerable households with income below 100% of the median standard, excluding existing government-supported public utility discount households such as recipients and near-poor... Kim Kyung-ho, District Mayor, stated, "We will closely monitor to ensure no Gwangjin residents are left behind"
Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) is providing public utility fee support to low-income vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots to alleviate the economic burden caused by energy price increases.
Unlike recipients of public utility fee reduction support such as beneficiaries and near-poor households, the district has been supporting city gas and electricity bills for vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots who do not receive welfare support since March.
The 'Gwangjin-type Energy Vulnerable Public Utility Fee Support Project' promoted by Gwangjin-gu selects recipients through income investigation who have a standard median income of 100% or less. The selection criteria are ▲1-person household 2.07 million KRW ▲2-person household 3.45 million KRW ▲3-person household 4.43 million KRW.
The support amount is 20,000 KRW from January to May and 13,300 KRW from June to December, paid monthly. If the recipient meets the criteria during regular income investigations, support can continue. Currently, 816 households are receiving support.
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “Public utility expenses increase during the winter season. We have prepared support measures to reduce the burden on our neighbors in need,” and added, “We will carefully ensure that no citizen is left out and everyone can have a warm winter.”
Meanwhile, Gwangjin-gu allocated an additional budget of 312 million KRW earlier this year for the 'Gwangjin-type Energy Vulnerable Public Utility Fee Support Project.'
