Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee Attends 'Baebongsan Nature Cleanup Activity'

Saemaeul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch Conducts Baebongsan Nature Cleanup Activity Practicing Environmental Protection on the 21st

Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee attended the ‘Baebongsan Nature Cleanup Activity’ hosted by the Saemaul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch (Branch Chief Taegyu Yoon) on the 21st.

The ‘Baebongsan Nature Cleanup Activity’ is an annual event organized by the Saemaul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch, where participants pick up trash around the Baebongsan outdoor stage and walking trails to create a clean natural environment.

This activity was the first official event since the branch chief was elected on the 9th. Attendees included Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilhyung Lee, Dongdaemun-gu Council Chairman Taein Lee, council members Yongho Kim, Seongun Jang, Yeonwoo Noh, Gyuseo Lee, and Seoyoon Jeong, who encouraged the Saemaul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch.

Baebongsan was divided into three zones, each managed by member organizations: the Saemaul Leaders Association (President Seonggeun Yoo), Saemaul Women’s Association (President Mihee Park), and Saemaul Library (President Doyeon Lee). Over 100 members worked for more than an hour, diligently cleaning the Baebongsan area.

Taegyu Yoon, Branch Chief of the Saemaul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch, said, “Although there was a period of inactivity, we plan to collaborate with the district to carry out various volunteer activities that will support the residents.”

Mayor Ilhyung Lee stated, “I am pleased to see so many members gathered for the first event since reorganizing the group. I hope the Saemaul Undong Dongdaemun-gu Branch will continue to promote various activities for the benefit of Dongdaemun-gu.”
