Providing Public Jobs in 5 Sectors for Employment-Vulnerable Groups... Applications Accepted at Local Community Centers Until December 4
Dongdaemun-gu (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) is recruiting participants for the ‘2024 First Half Companion Job’ project to promote employment stability for vulnerable employment groups until December 4.
The ‘Companion Job’ project is a self-help and self-reliance based job program where unemployed individuals or daily workers without regular income, who need livelihood support, participate in the project to help other socially disadvantaged groups. The district secured a project budget of 4.107 billion KRW in the ‘2024 Companion Job Project’ competition conducted by Seoul City last November.
The district will recruit 285 residents to participate in the Companion Job project for the first half of next year from November 21 to December 4, a period of 10 days. The recruitment fields include 33 projects across 5 areas supporting economically, physically, socially safe, digitally, and climate-environmentally vulnerable groups.
Applicants must be workers aged 18 or older as of the project start date (January 10, 2024) and be residents in need of livelihood support such as vulnerable employment groups. They must meet the conditions of a combined household income at or below 80% of the median income and combined household assets of 400 million KRW or less.
Working conditions vary by project but are within 6 hours per day, 5 days a week. The salary applies the 2024 minimum wage (hourly wage of 9,860 KRW), with daily wages of 60,000 KRW (6 hours), 40,000 KRW (4 hours), or 30,000 KRW (3 hours) depending on working hours.
Residents wishing to participate in the project must visit their local community service center in person with identification to apply by December 4 (excluding weekends and substitute holidays).
After the application deadline, the district will conduct a review and individually notify the final selected candidates on January 3, 2024. The selected residents will work for a total of five months from January 10 to June 30, 2024.
For detailed information on job content, working hours, and eligibility requirements, please check the Dongdaemun-gu website or contact the Dongdaemun-gu Job and Youth Division or the local community service center.
Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, stated, “Since a large number of people were allocated to this year’s Companion Job project, I hope for active participation from residents who are struggling to maintain their livelihoods. We will continue to discover high-quality public job projects so that the experience gained in public jobs can be linked to private jobs and help achieve practical employment.”
