Sang-ik Lee, Hampyeong County Mayor, "Will Focus All Administrative Capabilities to Achieve Fruitful Results"

Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that County Governor Lee Sang-ik presented the major achievements of this year and the direction of county administration for 2024 through a policy speech at the 2nd regular session of the 287th Hampyeong County Council held on the 21st.

Governor Lee emphasized, “Despite various difficult situations such as unstable domestic and international conditions, economic recession, and casualties caused by large-scale wildfires and heavy rains, the residents and administration united to turn the crisis into an opportunity and laid the foundation for a higher leap forward, achieving significant results.”

The major achievements of 2023 include ▲ the Hampyeong Future Regional Development Vision Project worth 1.7 trillion won in cooperation with Jeollanam-do ▲ securing 41.7 billion won in national and provincial funds for about 10 projects including the 18 billion won Rural Space Maintenance Project ▲ and securing 8 billion won in the Regional Extinction Response Fund.

Governor Lee emphasized nurturing the fruits of the key projects promoted during the 8th local government term in 2024 and presented five major directions for county administration in 2024.

The directions for next year’s county administration proposed by Governor Lee focus heavily on Hampyeong’s future development, including ▲ building a high-tech industrial city where young people can have dreams and hopes ▲ advancing into a global tourist city ▲ expanding the foundation and strengthening the competitiveness of future agriculture and livestock industries ▲ realizing seamless welfare to improve residents’ quality of life ▲ and strengthening urban competitiveness through urban redevelopment.

In particular, despite a significant reduction in local financial resources due to the government’s fiscal tightening policy, Hampyeong county officials, including Governor Lee, actively worked to secure budgets such as national and provincial funds, resulting in maintaining the era of a 500 billion won main budget for two consecutive years.

Through this, Hampyeong-gun is expected to achieve many clear and meaningful results for a hopeful new leap forward in 2024.
