Upstage announced on the 21st that it will hold an online webinar, "Upstage Talk," on December 14 and 19 to share ways to utilize artificial intelligence (AI) optical character recognition (OCR) technology.
OCR is a technology that extracts text data from characters within images. Companies can use this to convert various types of documents into digital assets, maximizing work efficiency through document automation and knowledge database construction.

Based on its proven technology through awards at prestigious international conferences and competitions, Upstage will share how to utilize AI OCR. The sessions will cover topics such as ▲ AI product planning-development-delivery ▲ methods for developing high-performance information extraction models ▲ digital asset creation by turning documents into knowledge unique to each company ▲ and elevating business with AI OCR.
On the first day, December 14, technical know-how will be shared for active developers. Lee Junyeop, Upstage’s Large Language Model (LLM) Application Lead, will introduce the entire process from planning to development and delivery based on his experience developing actual AI OCR products. Park Seongrae, Upstage’s Document AI Lead, will provide insights into developing information extraction models, including data construction, model training and development, and model evaluation.
The session on December 19 will focus on the business perspective. Park Eunjeong, Upstage’s Chief Scientific Officer (CSO), will speak about the differentiators of AI OCR technology and the importance of digital asset creation. She will also provide a detailed introduction to the use of the "Upstage Console," which can be easily implemented as an application programming interface (API). Following this, Cho Minsu, Upstage’s Document AI Business Development Lead, will present successful implementation strategies for companies by focusing on actual customer cases, including business outcomes and expected effects from adopting AI OCR.
