Hampyeong-gun Achieves 'Excellent' in ESG Evaluation Results

Top 5 Among 82 County-Level Local Governments

On the 20th, Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it has achieved the remarkable feat of ranking in the 'TOP 5' among county-level regions in the ESG evaluation.


This evaluation, conducted by the ESG Happiness Economy Research Institute targeting 226 local governments nationwide, assessed policy suitability and sustainability based on 60 indicators and 106 detailed items, including local governments' sustainability, residential conditions, quality of life, administrative capacity, and level of interest.

Hampyeong-gun Achieves 'Excellent' in ESG Evaluation Results

Hampyeong-gun received excellent evaluations in the Environment (E) and Social (S) sectors, achieving an overall score of 80.06 points (Grade A) and ranking 5th among 82 county-level local governments.


In particular, Hampyeong-gun received perfect scores in the Environment (E) sector for ▲air pollution and improvement ▲fine dust generation and improvement ▲waste recycling and improvement ▲certification status of eco-friendly agricultural products ▲water supply coverage rate, and in the Social (S) sector for ▲number of childcare facilities ▲number of social welfare facilities, recognizing the various policies and efforts the county has implemented so far.


County Governor Lee Sang-ik stated, “We will continue to strive to develop Hampyeong-gun evenly by not only excelling in the Environment (E) and Social (S) sectors, which have achieved high scores in the ESG evaluation, but also by demonstrating excellent administration in the Governance (G) sector. We will promote sustainable growth to create a Hampyeong-gun full of hope and happiness.”
